Here I go!

Ok, so I have ONE more week of school to go before my 3 month vacation. I am soooooo excited to be done!! This semester has flown by until now. The last couple of weeks seem to be moving in slow motion. This coming week, I have a 2 part final and 2 presentations. I gave one presenatation last week, which seemed to go pretty well. I should find out my final grade in that class here in the next couple of weeks.

The other day, I found myself on the Compassion International website. I was looking at the pictures of children who are in need of a sponsor. To be honest, I was a bit dissapointed that I was unable to sponsor another child. God has been so good in providing the money to sponsor one child for the past 2 years. I spent quite a bit of time just staring at the photos. After a while, I remembered reading an article a few months back about a woman who spent her time writing to children who have sponsors that do not write to them. There are many people who see Compassion as a charity to give money to, but don't take the time to write to their child. So I emailed Compassion and asked for information on how to do this. I love writing to my child and receiving letters from her, so this was right up my alley. The very next day I received a reply saying that I would be receiving information on 2 children within a month or so who need someone to simply write them letters. I was beyond excited! This is a way that I can get involved even though I do not have any money. I don't know how old they will be or what country they will come from, but I can't wait! Another cool thing is, if I feel that I can handle writing to more than 3 children, I can request more. I just thought I'd share the excitement of my week :)
