Introducing the newest member of my family...

This is the newest member of the Ashworth clan. Her name is Shadeland. She was born on July 4th, but we've only had her a couple of weeks. Her favorite places to sleep are my bed, under my bed, under the couch, behind the laundry room door, and in the desk drawer. She also like to climb up your leg when she wants to be held, or when you have something in your hand that makes lots of noise.

Romans 8:35-39

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
...Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to seperate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Rom 8:3

I'm Home!!

We are back from an AMAZING vacation! It was sooo much fun...I'm sad that it is over.

Some of the things we did included, going on a tour in California. We saw different celebrity homes. We stopped in front of Dr. Phil's house and happened to catch him walking out. He was nice enough to wave lol. We also went to the home where Michael Jackson died. We actually went back here after the tour was over just to take a better look at all of the flowers and pictures outside of his home. We took a walk on the Hollywood walk of fame. We visited Michael Jackson's star, which was surrounded by people. It was hard to get to, but we managed. Our cruise left out of San Diego. Our first stop was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Whitney and I swam with the dolphins, which was AWESOME! Cabo was so beautiful! We did a lot of shopping and sight-seeing there. Our next stop was Ensanada, Mexico. We didn't spend as much time there. It is a little bit older and run down, but still beautiful. The other days on the ship were spent at sea. I absolutely love being out in the middle of the Ocean and seeing nothing but water. Its amazing. After the cruise was over we spent another day in California. We went to a Broadway show in the evening, and did some shopping and sight-seeing during the day. I loved California, although, it was a bit cold while we were there, I still managed to get a sunburn. Oh yeah! We saw the Padres and Dodgers play in San Diego the first day we were there. The Padres won. We did so much in those 9 days, it was a blast! It definitely ranks up there as one of my favorite vacations I've been on.

Although I am sad that our vacation has ended, its always nice to sleep in my own bed and get back into a normal routine. Besides, I still have something to look forward to. This weekend I am going to Ignite Chicago, which is a huge Christian music festival. I'm really excited!

Last Post Before I Leave!!!

I can't believe the day is so close to being here! We leave on Saturday morning, no later than 3 a.m. We are all basically packed, except for a few things. Tomorrow we will load up the truck, get to bed early, and head out before the sun comes up. We will be back very late July 12... Talk to you then!

6 more days!

We are headed to California in 6 more days! I am so excited, but time seems to be moving in slow motion. I think it is because I have been counting down the days for quite some time now. We are all mostly packed already. We did it all yesterday. We all had our lists and itineraries in our hands and planned accordingly what we were going to wear each day. Some of us even put each outfit into a 2 gallon Ziploc bag and labeled it with what day it was going to be worn. Yes, we are a very organized family. We are well organized and always early. Our plane leaves at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning...we are leaving our house no later than 3 a.m. We have even gone to the airport ahead of time to see where we have to be and how long it will take us to get there. In all of this planning and preparing, the anticipation is growing. Every time I look at my suitcase sitting out in the game room, I get more and more excited. :)

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel. This is the first time ever that we have flown together as a family. We always drive when we travel. This will be a new experience...and an awesome one at that. Pray for our safety as we travel from Indiana to Texas, from Texas to California, from California to Mexico, from Mexico back to California, from California to Colorado, and from Colorado back to Indiana...crazy, I know.

Have a blessed week!

busy bee

I have been keeping pretty busy these past couple of weeks. I've been working 3-4 days a week at Chick-fil-a, as well as babysitting 1-2 nights a week. I have also been preparing for my trip. It seems like the list of things I need to get before we go keeps expanding. The other night I was at Wal-mart with Paulina (the girl I babysit) and my flip-flop broke! I tried to keep it on anyway so that I wasn't walking barefoot, but it was hard. Paulina thought it was hilarious. So now I have to add "new flip-flops" to my list. Oh well...

Speaking of Paulina, I got the cutest call tonight. I was talking to my dad and Chelsey came in and handed me the phone. I answered it and of course, it was her! I was a little surprised because she is only 6 and I wasn't expecting her to call me. All she wanted to say was that she wanted me to babysit her because she misses me....so sweet! Made my day :)

On a serious note, I'd like to ask that you would keep my Grandpa in your prayers. He is in the Hospital again. Apparently, he is experiencing the same symptoms he had last year before he went into a coma. It's a little scary for my family right now, but God has a plan. He has everything under control.

Thanks to those who have already been praying!

Until next time...... :)
